HEAT FORMED ACRYLIC

Heat Formed Acrylic

The inherent rigidity of a curved shape allows us to skillfully heat form a much thinner sheet of acrylic than is normally used in flat display cases. This offers excellent clarity superior to that of curved glass at a fraction of the cost.

WHY ACRYLIC?

Acrylic is optically clearer than glass, several times more impact resistant and will not shatter. Acrylic is half the weight of glass so it's easier to ship and move and is relatively easy and inexpensive to form into shapes.

Although acrylic is not as abrasion resistant as glass, unlike glass, it can be repaired with a variety of scratch removal kits and minor abrasions can be polished out.

CARING FOR ACRYLIC

To maintain a cleaner more lustrous finish without smears or smudges, we recommend Plexus® Plastic cleaner, protectant and polish. Originally developed for aircraft canopies, it leaves a micro-thin, anti static layer of protectant that seals the porous surface of the acrylic. This creates a slippery, more dirt and abrasion resistant surface that will protect the strength and appearance for years to come. Only 100% cotton rags should be used on acrylic surfaces and paper products should never be used.

LIFT OUT DOOR

The Lift Out Door panel is an integral feature of all idm collector display cases. The light weight (6.5lb) door is removed by first unlocking 2 keyed security locks, then lifting out. SBR rubber seals on the top and bottom edges and polyurethane foam strips up both sides help insure a dust free showcase environment.

LED ILLUMINATION

LED Illumination

A superior colour light that enhances the visual appeal of whats on display without the excessive heat and damaging UI, IR rays associated with halogen lamps. The safe, cool, low voltage array consists of 10 lamps mounted radially, each containing 4 super bright diodes. They are extremely efficient and have a 100,000 hour life expectancy.

POP IN SHELVING

Pop n Shelving

All idm collector display cases allow for optional 18" diameter acrylic shelving to be installed. The shelves are simply inserted into notches located on the inside edges of the acrylic panels. Each display case allows for 11 shelf positions.
